In high-school, Caitlin and I had similar circles, and I specifically remember (vaguely) something to do with a party and some fireball, yanno! Good times!
Anyway, after college, I moved about an hour away. I was just starting to take myself seriously as a photographer, and she drove down to mini sessions I was hosting. I was so surprised and flattered that she and her family traveled in December to let me take their pictures for 20-minutes. I remember hoping that she liked them and was relieved when I saw she changed her profile picture (all of us check, by the way)!
I was less surprised but still honored that a year later, her and her now-husband, Jake, asked me to take their engagement photos. Of course the answer way yes!
They live closer to Erie, so we met in Portersville and I drove us the rest of the way to The Frick in Pittsburgh -- on another very cold, winter day. It was freezing but we all bared the cold and had a successful shoot.
When Caitlin asked me to do their wedding, I was ecstatic. No way it would be snowing in September! This time, I made the drive to her and Jake in Conneaut Lake, and got to spend the day with them and their family. To me, it felt so full circle. Here I was, getting to photograph the biggest day of someone's life, all because she took a chance on me two years ago.
I am so lucky to be their "photographer for life!!"
